Starting in your hotel, we pick you up early in the morning to take the Braulio Carrillo National Park, road toward Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí.

Here we start biking on a gravel road thru banana plantations. The climate here is very hot and humind. The adventure mixes biking with the chance of getting close to nature observing toucan birds, monkeys, sloth, iguanas, water birds and crocodiles. This area is famous for being one of the rain forest still alive on the region.

Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí is located in the north Atlantic side of Costa Rica. You will also have the opportunity to witness the banana packing process in one of the most famous banana plantations of the country.

What to expect about the weather here? You never know, the Caribbean side of Costa Rica is the Rain Forest and it rains almost the year round. February, March and April are the driest months here, nevertheless a surprise can be given at any time.

The gravel roads built for the big banana companies are extremely rough due to the big size of the rocks used to make the soft terrain a firm road for the big trucks that every day transport bananas from these plantations to the dock in Puerto Limón in the Caribbean coast.
