This journey is surrounded by 2 Volcanoes (Irazú and Turrialba), canyons, mountains, forest, livestock, coffee plantations, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, sugar cane, macadamia nuts and ornamental plants.

The area offers the perfect terrain for bikers who love some difficulties.

In these four days we will have a little bit of everything as we keep going day by day.

Day # 1: " Irazú Volcano to Turrialba"

The passengers will be picked up in San José's main hotels, to go toward the Irazú Volcano, with a distance 54 kilometers, arriving to an elevation of 3432 meters above sea level.

As we drive up to the volcano you will see awesome views from the central valley. At certain point we will be higher than the clouds. This is fascinating. As we arrive to the top we will visit the national park and observe the crater and it's vegetation.

After visiting the volcano we start descending a few distance on the paved road before we reach the detour to Turrialba Volcano. This is the beginning of the dirt road.

On the route we will pass by live stock farms and many different vegetable plantations.

Route of Day # 2: "Indian Route of Guayabo"

Morning depart from the hotel towards the town of Santa Cruz, where we begin our route on dirt road. This region is the most fertile in the country. The main production here are vegetables. There are lots of different plantations along our route such as cabbage, onions, carrots, mustard seed, beets, couliflower etc.. continuing on this road we arrive to Guayabo National Park, where you will be given a chat about the natives that inhabited the area.

The road is a little rocky and has some up and down hills. There are some coffee plantations and lot of local people with their bikes saying good bye to you. We will continue until we get to the paved road, (downhill section), concluding our route in Turrialba, where you will be picked up by the minibus in order to rtake us back to our hotel..

Route of the Day # 3: "Río Pejibaye"

Starting the route from the hotel, biking through the big sugar cane plantations, macadamia nuts and coffee, passing by the Atirro sugar Mill, one of the oldest inthe country. We will continue to the town of " Oriente ", where we will cross a mountainous forest until we arrive to the town of " Pejibaye " and to cross the River " Tepemechín " and the River " Gato ". After crossing these rivers we will arrive at the " Pejibaye ".

Pejibaye is the name of a very small town whose main production in the past was the Pejibaye fruit (Peach Palm). This fruit has to be cooked before eating and its flavor is delicious. There is a river we will have to cross that bearers the same name of the town. You will have the opportunity to dive in it's clear waters. The first part of the dirt road is flat and there is a segment of steep mountain with dense vegetation. Our support van will be all the time right behind us in order to be available in case you need something from the van or in case some one need to rest for a while.
